Description
**TABLE 1.** Aligned sequence haplotypes for variable positions within 564 bp of COI sequence analysed for Alpheus lottini populations throughout the Indo-Pacific. Numbers in brackets indicate the number of copies of identical haplotypes at that location. Several haplotypes are also shared among populations: Chagos 1 is identical to Red Sea 1 and Seychelles 2; Chagos 2 is identical to Seychelles 1; Clipperton 1 is identical to Moorea 3. The phylogentically informative sites are indicated by bold type, and the site which differentiates Indian from Pacific Ocean populations is indicated with an asterisk. Sequences are available from GenBank. Accession numbers U76428-U76440 and XX-XX.**TABLE 2.** Percent genetic divergence among Indian Ocean populations of Alpheus lottini calculated using Kimura two-parameter (Kimura,1980) genetic distances among mtDNA haplotypes. Values are the mean ± SD with range in parentheses. **TABLE 3.** Percent genetic divergence among groups of Alpheus lottini calculated using Kimura two-parameter (Kimura,1980) genetic distances among mtDNA haplotypes. Values are the mean ± SD with range in parentheses. The West Pacific group includes samples from Pohnpei and Guam, and the Central-East Pacific group includes Moorea and Clipperton Island. **TABLE 4.** Values below the diagonal are pairwise FST values among Indian Ocean populations of Alpheus lottini incorporating Kimura 2-parameter (Kimura, 1980) genetic distances among haplotypes. Values above the diagonal are Nm (calculated using Arlequin, Schneider et al.,1996).**TABLE 5.** Values below the diagonal are pairwise FST values among groups of Alpheus lottini incorporating Kimura 2-parameter (Kimura,1980) genetic distances among haplotypes. Values above the diagonal are Nm (calculated using Arlequin, Schneider et al.,1996). Indian group - includes samples from the Red Sea, Seychelles, Chagos and Western Australia; West Pacific group - Palau, Pohnpei, Central-East Pacific group - Moorea, Clipperton.
