Description
Large eagle ray with greenish, greyish or reddish brown dorsal colouration with numerous white to bluish spots (sometimes ocelli) and a moderately long fleshy rostral lobe. Nasal curtain deeply notched centrally. Ventral surface white.
Life history: viviparous with up to ten (usually four or less) pups per litter; size at birth variable from 18-50 cm DW; maximum size 300 cm DW.
Distribution: Indo-Pacific, although there may be more than one species present. Occurs inshore and well offshore.
